This GVEF1700 series controlled atmosphere muffle furnace is only as good as its individual parts. That’s where this 1700°C model rises above the competition. Deep within the chamber rests MoSi2 heating elements, embedded in rugged alumina fiber insulation. This is all housed within a double-walled, steel internal housing, which traps heat in, keeping it from reaching the surface. Precise temperature control is provided by a Eurotherm 3204 5 on-board process recipes (48 parameters per recipe) digital controller, while a self-tuning PID control delivers optimum thermal process with minimal overshoot.
One very useful feature, you don’t have to be in the room to control the operation. You can monitor and control the process remotely from your PC through a RS485 digital communications port and USB adaptor. It’ll even let you save or export test results. The furnace contains multiple gas inlets and outlets with stainless steel ball valves. This and a flow meter allows for inbound and outbound glas flow control. Outlets can even be ignited to burn off gas, if need be.
Need to perform more than one process at once? You’ve picked the right item. This furnace can perform multiple atmosphere processes in a single cycle. A high temperature, silicone gasket seals the furnace door. Not only that, but a built-in, stainless-steel water-cooling panel protects the door sealing gasket when the furnace is being used heavily. Built-in ammeter and dual voltmeters offer easy monitoring and troubleshooting. Safety features include overheat protection and power failure protection. Each furnace is welded and oil leak tested to ensure airtightness. This and all of our furnaces are CE compliant.
The benefits of an controlled atmosphere furnace
An atmosphere furnace provides the perfect environment for various procedures in many laboratories, providing the controlled temperature and atmosphere specific projects require. The controlled atmosphere is desired to complete tasks that require exact temperatures with no room for error. This is the best way to ensure the successful outcome of your project because it is sealed tightly to ensure the proper environment.
Gases
One of the main components of the atmosphere furnace is the correct mixture of gases. The precise measurement of each gas is essential to the success of your project. You can use a separate chamber to mix the gases, which are then pumped into the furnace chamber where the work will be completed when they are done mixing. It is essential that the separate chamber that holds the gases does not receive any outside air because it could throw off the gas mixture and render your project useless.
Temperature
Proper temperature control is vital to the success of your project as well. Temperatures that are too high or too low will cause problems with the process and could cost your company a significant amount of money. Across International furnaces come with built-in 28-segment PID digital temperature controller for accurate monitoring and consistency.

Safety
- Overheat protection shuts down the furnace if temperature is outside of acceptable range (refer to controller's manual) or when the thermocouple is broken or malfunctions.
- Limit switch: When the lift rod reaches the highest or lowest point, the limit switch will power off the lift rod automatically, preventing over-rise or over-lower.
- Power failure protection resumes furnace operation right after the point of failure when power is reestablished.
