Introducing Across International new VF1500 1500°C Vacuum Furnace with Molybdenum Heating Elements
Features and Applications
This vertical furnace is designed for high temperature heat treatment and sintering under vacuum or a controlled atmosphere. Depending on the selected configuration, it can operate with nitrogen, argon, hydrogen or other compatible process gases.
Typical applications include vacuum sintering, atmosphere sintering and the processing of advanced materials such as transparent ceramics.
Structural Composition
The system comprises the furnace body, chamber lid and base, heating elements, heat shields, vacuum system, control system and water cooling system.
Construction Details
Furnace body
The vertical chamber has a double wall construction made from 304 stainless steel, with a mirror polished exterior. The inner and outer shells and their flanges are welded into an integrated assembly. Stainless steel ports accommodate the electrode connections, vacuum line, gas inlet and vent, thermocouple, infrared access and observation sight glass.
Chamber lid
The lid is fabricated from inner and outer stainless steel sections and flanges, with a water cooled space between them. It can be opened for access to the chamber.
Furnace base
The base consists of inner and outer sections and flanges, with water cooling between the layers. It includes gas charging and venting connections and an electrode feedthrough.
Heating elements and heat shields
The heat shield assembly uses an inner tungsten layer and an outer stainless steel layer.
Vacuum system
Depending on the selected configuration, the vacuum system includes a direct drive pump with a turbomolecular or diffusion pump, pneumatic flapper and shut off valves, a digital combination vacuum gauge, vacuum piping and a vent valve. A metal bellows hose and quick connect fittings help isolate vibration from the furnace chamber.
